What is this group class?
The Voice Discovery Lab is a deep dive into your voice and your self.
We’ll explore many of the exercises in Sing a Secret but taking more time with them — more thoroughly uncovering possibilities of your voice and unlocking things in your life. And through new, invigorating exercises, we’ll explore deep pockets of the voice that you didn’t know were possible. All in a supportive, intimate group setting.
It’s six evenings to change your voice and your life.
Is the Voice Discovery Lab a good fit for me?
The Voice Discovery Lab is a great fit if you:
- loved Sing a Secret and want a more in depth experience in a group
- want to experience the magic of going deeper in this work with the same people over the course of multiple days
- want to build confidence singing in front of others who will support you along the way
- are interested in discovering new possibilities in your voice, like "screaming" sounds, sounds rooted in specific emotion, and ecstatic singing
- want to experience how your voice can uncover personal insight, empowerment, and healing in your life
- would like to apply this work to a song to present to the outside world

When: Six consecutive Wednesdays (9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28), 7pm-9pm

FAQ
I don’t have any background in singing, and/or I’m really nervous to sing. Would this class be appropriate?
Absolutely! This voice approach is especially compatible for folks who don’t have any formal voice or music education and/or those who have a lot of fear about singing. The Voice Discovery Lab is powerful for anyone, regardless of their background or experience.
What is this voice method?
This voice method is an ecstatic, mind-body approach to voice, rooted in the lineage of Alfred Wolfsohn[wiki link] and Jonathan Stancato[www.singasecret.com]. I explain more about this method here [my about this method page].
Is this appropriate for teenagers or children?
No, this workshop is for adults only (18+).
Is the space accessible for people with disabilities?
Unfortunately, the workshop space is accessible by stairs only. If this makes things challenging or impossible for you, email me at tyler.hathaway1@gmail.com. I offer one-on-one lessons virtually and I sometimes put on groups in other, more ADA-accessible spaces.
